KPK Leadership Candidate Setyo Budiyanto Reveals Sectoral Ego in His Institution, Leadership Lacks Coordination

JAKARTA - KPK Leadership Candidate Setyo Budiyanto revealed the existence of sectoral egos in the KPK. According to him, so far the leadership has lacked coordination and communication.

This was conveyed by Setyo while undergoing a fit and proper test at Commission III of the DPR, Monday, November 18.

Setyo initially explained about the cooperation carried out by the KPK in every deputy activity. According to him, this deputy has carried out many cooperative activities with the Prosecutor's Office and the Police.

"Among other things, providing assistance including expert assistance, then physical checks, then if there are differences of opinion regarding P19, including general coordination, including case transfer, the KPK has also done a lot of that," said Setyo.

However, Setyo continued, problems often arise because there are things that are non-technical in nature. According to him, there are many problems that do not run well in the field where they are often constrained by trivial matters.

"There are sectoral egos, then lack of coordination. Actually, this can be resolved when the leaders can communicate. (But) Often the leaders think that they don't need to meet," he said.

"Especially the leaders at the KPK level, think that maybe because their level is too high, they don't want to meet with the Attorney General, don't want to meet the Chief of Police, they feel that the one who needs to meet is the deputy level," Setyo added.

"Well, this is what often causes problems that ultimately hinder at the lower level, thus causing problems that ultimately hinder at the lower level," he concluded.
