Unable To Deposit Dividends, MRT Jakarta Asked To Improve Station Commercialization

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD urges PT MRT Jakarta to increase the commercialization aspect of MRT stations to increase the income of DKI regional-owned enterprises (BUMD).

Because, until now, PT MRT Jakarta has not been able to deposit dividends or profit distributions for the DKI Provincial Government. In fact, in the 2024 APBD, regional capital participation (PMD) disbursed worth IDR 26.4 trillion can be absorbed 100 percent.

"All 13 stations have the potential to be used as commercial areas, underground areas are no less attractive to develop, such as malls, cafes and others," said DKI Jakarta DPRD Golkar Faction Member Farah Savira in a statement, Wednesday, October 13.

According to Farah, with the increase in commercialization within the station, PT MRT Jakarta no longer relies on capital injections from the APBD every year because it has optimized assets.

"Golkar hopes that the amendment to the Regional Regulation will also regulate the replacement for government subsidies with advertising revenue," said Farah.

However, Farah emphasized that MRT Jakarta still prioritizes its role as an effort to couple mass public transport systems and system operators according to the mandate assigned by the DKI Provincial Government in organizing and managing transportation.

"Realizing the development, development and operation of Jabodetabek transportation in the context of orderly, smooth, effective, efficient, safe, safe, comfortable and affordable transportation service integration by the community," explained Farah.

Meanwhile, the NasDem Party faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD asked the Jakarta MRT to absorb the workforce from Jakarta residents.
