JAKARTA - The police have named a woman with the initials D as a suspect in a series of online gambling cases backed by officials from the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi).
Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi said that suspect D was charged with alleged money laundering or TPPU.
"D was named a suspect because she is suspected of being involved in TPPU," Ade told reporters on Tuesday, November 12.
D was named a TPPU suspect because of her status as the wife of fugitive A alias M. It is suspected that the woman received and enjoyed the proceeds from online gambling practices.
"Suspect D is the wife of the wanted suspect (DPO) A, currently DPO A alias M is still being pursued by investigators," he said.
