'Angels In The ER', A Book By Robert Lesslie, A Shooting Victims In South Carolina Is Now Published In Indonesia

JAKARTA - A brutal shooting has rocked The State of South Carolina, United States, when former National Football League (NFL) professional player Philip Adams reportedly shot dead five people before committing suicide.

A prominent Emergency Unit (ER) doctor in South Carolina, Robert Lesslie and his wife Barbara and two grandchildren, were killed in a brutal shooting inside his residence. Meanwhile, two air conditioner technicians were also shot outside Lesslie's residence. A technician named James Lewis was pronounced dead.

"Investigators are still investigating this shooting. There's nothing about this right now that makes sense to all of us", York County Sheriff Kevin Toslan told CNN Friday, April 9.

Lesslie's death has gained sympathy and memories of his services while still alive. South Carolina State Governor, Henry McMaster offered his condolences to the victims via Twitter.

Lesslie is the founder of Riverview House Calls and Riverview Hospice and Palliative Care, according to the service's joint website. In a personal bio page, Lesslie says he and his wife have been married for 40 years, raised four children, and have nine grandchildren.

"In my spare time, I enjoy writing, golfing, hunting, growing fruit and hops, and bagpiping (playing Bagpipe instruments)", the bio page says.

His website lists several books he wrote, including 'Angels in the ER' in 2008', a book about trust in God and the cooperation of doctors, nurses, and others in the emergency department.

"I have been an observer of the human condition as well as a doctor. There's no better place to be an observer than the ER", he told The Herald about the book in 2008.

"Everyone has something to teach us. I want to do this from a spiritual point of view. As soon as it became clear to me, it wrote itself", he concluded.

Robert's book was also translated into Bahasa Indonesia and published under the title 'Malaikat-malaikat di UGD'. Lesslie also shared the moment on his Twitter account.
