Meutya Hafid Is Nervous When Ordered By Prabowo To Fight Online Gambling

JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi), Meutya Hafid, admitted that she was surprised when she received orders from President Prabowo Subianto, to eradicate online gambling (judol) in Indonesia.

However, he was relieved because he had full support for eradicating judol.

He told the story during his inaugural meeting with Commission I of the DPR, the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 5.

"When the president delivered the directions for the first time there was, ladies and gentlemen. At that time there was no such great support. So when it was delivered the first direction I also didn't know whether this was widely supported or not. But Alhamdulillah it was supported," said Meutya.

Meutya also admitted that she was grateful to have the full support of her former colleagues in Commission I of the DPR. It is known, Meutya is a former Chairman of the Commission in charge of foreign affairs and communication.

"After the incident, we went before the president and he supported and today the support of the people's representatives in Commission I, I think this is our common strength," said Meutya.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto ordered the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), Meutya Hafid, to support law enforcement officials in eradicating online gambling.

Through his official Instagram account, @meutya_hafid, he told that he had just been asked by the President to report the latest developments regarding the handling of online gambling.

"I received direct directions from President Prabowo Subianto to continue to support the National Police in eradicating online gambling practices, especially those involving individuals within the government, including the ministry I lead," said Meutya, quoted on Sunday, November 5.

The Golkar politician also revealed that the Head of State assessed that the steps that have been carried out by Meutya at this time are correct and must continue.

"The president emphasized that the steps we took were on the right track and asked us to consistently continue this effort," he explained.
