JAKARTA - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Atgas stated that the Government would implement the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the cancellation of 21 articles in the Job Creation Law.

"There is no (surpres). We immediately carried it out because the problem is that there is an urgent one decided by the Constitutional Court which must be carried out, namely the determination of the provincial minimum wage," Supratman said after meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, reported by ANTARA, Monday, 4 November.

It was stated that 21 articles of the Job Creation Law were canceled by the Constitutional Court. Supratman said President Prabowo stated that all ministers would implement the Constitutional Court's decision.

Regarding the calculation of the provincial minimum wage (UMP), said Supratman, it will be formulated by the Minister of Manpower and the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs.

"How much will the Minister of Manpower technically know better? Well, that's all because there is a limit on November 26, the provincial minimum wage must be set in all provinces. Well, that's the most urgent thing," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Manpower Yassierli said that his party had held discussions with the National Wage Council as well as representatives from trade unions and employers' associations.

Yassierli explained that his party had conveyed the aspirations of trade unions and employers' associations related to the Job Creation Act to President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday.

"This afternoon they have accommodated their aspirations, and their aspirations have also been conveyed to the President," Yassierli said after meeting President Prabowo.

According to him, Prabowo gave directions related to his follow-up.

"This is what we are trying to formulate, and we have a deadline of November 7 to get out with one, whether it's a circular or a Minister of Manpower regulation, related to the determination of the minimum wage which we will later convey to governors throughout Indonesia," he explained.
