Densus 88 Investigates Suspected Terrorist Confessions Claiming To Be FPI Sympathizers

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Antitetor Polri will explore the confessions of suspected terrorists arrested in the vicinity of Jakarta, who are referred to as sympathizers of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI).

Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brig. Gen. Rusdi Hartono said that this information will also be explored.

"I don't think it's a secret, what's in public (the confession of suspected terrorists) and of course will be explored by Densus 88," Brig. Gen. Rusdi told reporters on Tuesday, April 6.

"Surely it is an input for Densus 88 to solve the problem," he added.

The confessions of these suspected terrorists have been circulated in whatsapp short messages. There are at least two videos voi gets.

The two suspected terrorists are Ahmad Juniadi aka AJ and Bambang Setiono aka BS. They were arrested in a series of Densus 88 operations in Condet and Bekasi Districts.

In the video, Ahmad Juniadi claimed to often follow Rizieq Shihab's studies. In fact, suspected terrorists arrested in the East Ciputat area, routinely follow the study led by Husein Hasni in Condet, East Jakarta.

"I am Ahmad Junaidi one of the FPI sympathizers, since Habib Rizieq returned to Indonesia and I also joined the congregation under the leadership of Habib Husein Hasni Condet and held every Friday night in turns to the homes of all members of the congregation," said Ahmad Junaidi.

Meanwhile, Bambang Setiono claimed to be an FPI investigator since December 2020. Bambang Setiono was arrested at one of the malls in Kawasam Pademangan, North Jakarta.

"I am Bambang Setiono as an FPI investigator since early December 2020. (Role) making materials from black powder from Zulaimi Agus in Sukabumi. Planning an attack on gas stations with molotov cocktails to demand free HRS," bambang said

On the other hand, Aziz Yanuar's former Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) legal aid adviser confirmed the suspected terrorists' confessions did not say much. He only mentioned that they were sympathizers and not FPI members.

In fact, Aziz also confirmed that the FPI Organization has disbanded. So it's none of his business anymore.

"That concerned some only investigators, FPI has disbanded," aziz said.

Not only that, Aziz also mentioned about Husein Hasni's recognition as a member of FPI. He said Husein had been dismissed as a member four years ago.

"Then related to the FPI in Condet it has been dismissed from FPI members in 2017," he said.
