Maruarar Sirait Complains To DPR: The PKP Ministry's Budget Has Decreased But The Target Is High

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait or Ara complained that the ministry's budget was reduced while the target set was quite high.

Ara said that the target of the Ministry of PKP this year has not been achieved. He said, the ministries he leads in 2024 are targeting the construction of 145,000 housing units, but only 34,000 units have been realized.

"The budget is Rp. 14 trillion, imagine this year that the target is only 145 thousand per day, only 34 thousand have been achieved today," said Maruarar during a working meeting of Commission V DPR RI with the Ministry of PKP at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Tuesday, October 29.

Maruarar asked the DPR to consider this matter. He hopes that the DPR will also cooperate so that the government can achieve the desired target.

"I ask the DPR to criticize me, is it true that this data? You have a lot of experience, isn't this data true, if this data is true, it means we have to work to imagine 25 times to reach 3 million," he said.

Ara also explained about the 2025 target. He complained that the budget given was quite small due to cuts.

"The continuation is 2025. Our budget is from Rp. 14 to Rp. 5 trillion, we have to build three million houses. Please also criticize whether this budget is true? Because maybe some of you made this budget with the ministry before me," he said.

"Is this budget worth building three million houses? Right, we want to be open from the start, it's clear," he said.
