Gaza's civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal said on Monday more than 1,000 people had died since Israel began a massive military offensive to northern Gaza earlier this month.
Basal said intense Israeli bombings had lasted for 22 days in Jabalya, Beit Lahiya, and Beit Hanoun, among other areas, adding Israeli troops had also prevented civil defenses and medical staff from accessing the Gaza Strip section.
"Those bombed in the northern part of the line will not receive medical assistance or anyone who provides medical services," he told CNN Oct. 28.
"Thus, we are facing a difficult and tragic situation," he said.
"Apart from more than 1,000 people who are confirmed dead, many others are lying under the rubble or on the road," Basal added.
"Given the tragic and terrible reality in northern Gaza, we continue to urge international organizations and agencies to fulfill their humanitarian and service roles to help citizens in northern Gaza, who were subjected to mass destruction and direct bombings," he explained.
"We also ask organizations such as the Red Cross to intervene and allow civil and medical defense teams, as well as hospitals, to carry out their humanitarian duties in northern Gaza," he continued.
"Otherwise, we face serious threats to the lives of more than 100,000 residents who still live in their homes in the northern part of the route," Basal concluded.
Separately, the United Nations Humanitarian Affairs Coordination Office said "all residents of northern Gaza are threatened with death," as Israel continues intense military operations in the area.
"Hundreds of Palestinians have reportedly been killed. Tens of thousands of people have been forced to flee again," UN Deputy Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Assistance Coordinator Joyce Msuya said in a statement.
"The hospital has been attacked and health workers have been detained. The shelter has been vacated and burned. The first responders have been prevented from rescuing people from under the rubble. The families have been separated and the boys are taken away by transport trucks," he added.

Msuya went on to say, "what Israeli forces are doing in the trapped northern Gaza cannot be allowed to continue."
"Disclosure of humanity and the law of war must be stopped," said MSuya.
Meanwhile, Gaza's Ministry of Health on Monday announced that the death toll from Palestine since the latest conflict broke out on October 7, 2023 has reached 43,020, while injuries reached 101,110, quoted from Turkey Today.
