YOGYAKARTA In this article, the specifications for the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft owned by the Indonesian Air Force will be discussed. This aircraft is used to transport the ministers of the Red and White Cabinet who will take part in the briefing at the Military Academy (Akmil) Magelang, Central Java.

Based on VOI records, the Indonesian government in 2019 purchased five C-130J Super Hercules A-1340 aircraft from Lockheed Martin. The aircraft was delivered in stages from March 2023 to May 2024.

The first unit of the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft arrived in Indonesia on March 6, 2023, via Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. While the last unit was sent on May 17, 2024.

This aircraft can carry a maximum load of up to nearly 20,000 kilograms or nearly 20 tons. The C-130J Super Hercules can also carry 8 pallets or 97 stretchers, 128 combat troops, and 92 parachuting troops.

The C-130J Super Hercules has improved features from its predecessor type, for example an upgrade to the fuel protection system, as well as a cargo handling system. There is also a more sophisticated flight station system improvement and a fully integrated digital avionic system.

Furthermore, the Super Hercules transport aircraft also features advanced head-up display and navigation technology that includes multiple inertial navigation systems and GPS.

The C-130J-30 Super Hercules has four Rolls-Royce AE 2100D turboprop engines, GE-Dowty Aerospace R391 6-blade propellers with a magnitude of 4,700 stances and is capable of reaching a peak speed of 660 km/hour at an altitude of 6,706 meters.
