The Mercedes Benz Bus That Caught Fire On The Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road Was About To Take Kindergarten Children To Ancol After Manasik Hajj

The blue white tourism bus numbered B 7179 VGA which caught fire due to an electrical short on the Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road, KM 03, North Cipinang Besar Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, is known to have a 2016 Mercedes Benz brand.

According to information from NK (49), the bus driver, initially before the fire occurred, there had been damage to the AC bus. Then it was repaired before being used.

Furthermore, the driver with the initials NK and RP who is a bus assistant picked up the Asyifa Al Hidayah TK Hajj group in the Cikeas area, West Java on Thursday, October 24, at dawn.

After picking up 58 Hajj rituals, the bus continued to head to the Pondok Gede area, East Jakarta with no problems.

Then when it was finished from the Hajj rituals in the Pondok Gede area, it continued to lead to Ancol, North Jakarta for recreation, but when traveling from Pondok Gede to Ancol, the AC bus suffered no cold damage.

NK slowly pulled over on Wiyoto Wiyono KM 3 Toll Road to check air conditioning batteries and drop passengers so that they can be immediately taken to other buses to continue their tour of Ancol.

When the driver got off, he saw that the AC battery behind the bus had already had sparks. NK also asked the assistant for help to extinguish the blaze.

The bus driver with the initials NK also ordered the passengers on the bus to get out of the bus.

"Not long ago, the fire then burned the bus," NK told the police, Thursday, October 24.

Meanwhile, the Head of Traffic Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Darwis, said that the incident was not a traffic accident case, so the case was transferred to the Jatinegara Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

"Currently, the bus driver is still being questioned by the Jatinegara Police Criminal Investigation Unit. The tourism bus has been towed towards the Priuk 1 Toll Gate," he said.

As previously reported, a tourism bus with number B 7179 VGA containing 58 kindergarten students experienced a fire on Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road, KM 03, North Cipinang Besar Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, Thursday, October 24.

The magnitude of the flames made the bus carrying passengers sold out on fire.
