Prabowo's Response To Kunker's Instruction Abroad Has Been Reduced, Minister Karding: Our Task Is To Execute

JAKARTA - Minister of Migrant Workers Protection Abdul Kadir Karding said that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's statement that his ranks of ministers should reduce ceremonial events to non-essential foreign travel must be obeyed.

As assistant to the president, the ranks of ministers are obliged to follow. "President Prabowo's statement is very clear. Our job as his assistant is to execute orders," said Karding, quoted from his official Instagram, @abdulkadirkarding, Thursday, October 24.

The instruction for his ministers to reduce the accounts and events that are ceremonial in nature was conveyed by Prabowo while chairing the inaugural session of the Red and White Cabinet which was held at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 23 yesterday.

"I ask for activities that are too ceremonial, there are too many seminars, too many facilities, too many conferences, too many overseas trips, please reduce them," Prabowo said, quoted on Thursday, October 24.

The former Minister of Defense reminded his ministers not to work arbitrarily. The efficiency, continued Prabowo, must be prioritized without carrying out unnecessary activities.

"We have to set an example. Our focus is on the economic development of people's welfare. Don't make it up, study appeals, learn scouting to other countries. I ask for it to be efficient," he continued.

On that occasion, Prabowo also asked the Coordinating Minister and the Minister of Finance to supervise and trace the State Budget (APBN). It is also hoped that Prabowo can be re-studied by the ministers.

Then, he reminded the existence of the Special Development and Investigation Control Agency. The task of this agency is to monitor all programs executed by ministries/agencies.

"Ladies and gentlemen, if you pay attention to the government that I have formed, I will strengthen the Presidential Chief of Staff. I will strengthen that. I have additional Special Development and Investigation Control Agencys. Their job is to monitor all programs of all projects that we will smooth," he concluded.
