JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) explained a poll of support for the candidate pair for Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta based on the voter bases of each party in the legislative elections.

As a result, more PKS voters or 42.2 percent supported Pramono Anung-Rano Karno. In fact, Pramono-Rano was promoted by PDIP and the Hanura Party.

Meanwhile, PKS voters who support Ridwan Kamil-Suswono are 33.9 percent. PKS is one of the parties that carries RK-Suswono along with dozens of other parties. The rest, 7.2 percent support Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana.

"This is interesting. The choice from the PKS Party for candidates tends to be a little more to Pram-Rano, although there are still 17 percent who have not stated their choice," said LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan, in a virtual survey presentation, Wednesday, October 23.

In his analysis, Djayadi assessed that PKS voters are currently divided to support Jakarta's cagub-cawagub. Half of PKS voters are supporters of Anies Baswedan. Meanwhile, Anies did not show an attitude to support RK-Suswono.

"Perhaps, the movement at the bottom shows that Anies no longer firmly supports the pair promoted by PKS. Maybe this is what causes PKS voters to now split," explained Djayadi.

Not only PKS, PDIP voters also did not fully support Pramono-Rano. It was recorded that as many as 20.2 percent of PDIP voters supported RK-Suswono and 15 percent went to Dharma-Kun. Only 56.6 percent of PDIP voters put support on Pramono-Rano.

Overall, Pramono-Rano's electability was recorded at 41.6 percent, then Ridwan Kamil-Suswono at 37.4 percent, and Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana at 6.6 percent.

Djayadi explained, most likely the 2024 Pilkada will be held in two rounds. Given, there are still 14.4 percent of respondents who have not made a choice.

There is a possibility that Pramono-Rano will continue to rise and Ridwan-Suwono can go down. Or it could also rebound Ridwan-Suswono up, then the possibility of two rounds is very possible," explained Djayadi.

This survey was conducted on October 10-17, 2024. The survey was conducted on 1,200 respondents from Jakarta with face-to-face interviews. The sample was taken using the multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
