Victims Of Crocodile Recorded In Seberang Village River, Riau Sanglar Found Dead

RIAU - The Reteh Sector Police, Inderagiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province together with the TNI and the people of Seberang Sanglar Village found the body in the name of Aswar (53) who was the victim of a crocodile attack while bathing in the river, Tuesday, October 22 evening.

"The victim has been found even though he died, we are sorry for this incident," said Reteh Police Chief AKP Herman in a statement received in Tembilahan, Antara, Wednesday, October 23.

Aswar was reported missing after being attacked by a crocodile on Monday at around 17:30 WIB in the waters of Seberang Sanglar Village. The incident suddenly shocked local residents to make the atmosphere tense.

Receiving the report, the Inhil Police Chief then ordered the ranks to make maximum and efficient efforts in the process of searching for victims. One hour after the search, the victim was found dead, not far from the scene.

The search lasted for approximately an hour after the report was received. Bhabinkamtibmas Reteh and his staff, with the help of local residents, managed to find the victim's body in a lifeless condition, not far from the scene, "said the police chief.

Currently, Aswar's body has been evacuated and handed over to the family for burial.

Local police officers are also coordinating with relevant agencies to carry out routine patrols and socialization in water areas to minimize crocodile threats for local residents.

Previously, it was reported that a resident of Seberang Sanglar Village was missing when a crocodile was attacked while bathing with his child in the waters of Sanglar Village, Reteh District. While bathing in the river, suddenly a large crocodile appeared from the river and attacked the victim.
