The South Denpasar Sector Police arrested two perpetrators of snatching foreign national goods, namely Rohman Arik Setiawan (22) from Denpasar and I Kadek Subur Diki Antara (21) from Karangasem, as well as a collector of stolen goods Muhammad Amin Sanei (24).

South Denpasar Police Chief Kompol Herson Juanda said the two suspects were specialists in robbery targeting foreigners and tourists on vacation in Bali, while the other was a collector of stolen goods.

They use three motorbikes, two Yamaha N-Max and Honda PCX by always changing helmets, clothes and motorbikes to avoid being chased by police officers. Various types of items from cellphones, laptops to jewelry have been snatched by the three gangs.

The three suspects share roles in carrying out every mugging action where Rohman Setiawan and Kadek Subur play a role in executing in the field, while Muhamad Amin is a collector of stolen goods, then sold for money.

However, the two unemployed men, Rohman and Subur, were on the radar of the police search while snatching the cellphone of a teacher from South Korea, Chae Songhwa (43) on Jalan Kesari Number 38 C, Sanur, South Denpasar, Thursday (17/10) at 17.45 WITA.

The mugging of Rohman and Diki against South Korean foreigners was caught closed-circuit television (CCTV) at a resident's house near the scene.

In the CCTV footage, it appears that the perpetrators of Rohman and Diki rode a motorbike past a resident who was sweeping in front of his yard after stealing goods from South Korean foreigners.

The video clip shows South Korean foreigners who were victims had chased the two perpetrators shortly after the mugging, but because both of them were using motorbikes, the victim could not do much other than surrender.

The South Korean foreigner also reported the incident to the South Denpasar Police for immediate action to find the whereabouts of the two perpetrators.

Based on the report and analysis of the CCTV footage, the police then searched for information on the characteristics and whereabouts of the two perpetrators Rohman and Diki. The police, who knew the whereabouts of the gang, immediately carried out a raid at a hotel in the Sanur Minggu (20/10) area.

Shortly after being caught, when the police developed the case and tried to get to another crime scene, the perpetrators resisted and tried to escape. The officers also gave measured decisive action with gunfire at the feet of the suspects.

Furthermore, the perpetrator and the evidence were secured to the South Denpasar Police Headquarters for further investigation.

"This gang has been in action for a long time and even they have been arrested by Denpasar Police officers in connection with the same case. So their recidivist. The suspect Rohman Arik has served 8 months in prison for a robbery case that was carried out before. Meanwhile, Kadek Subur has been on the wanted list (DPO) for a robbery case at the North Kuta Police. Meanwhile, the suspect Muhammad Amin Sanei (24) has been in prison five times.

In addition to the suspect, the evidence that the police managed to secure in this case was 10 cellphones of various brands from the mugging, three motorcycles used when committing the crime, one laptop, a black jacket, two helmets, three pairs of fake nopol plates and cash worth Rp. 5 million.

The three of them were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code.
