Central Jakarta Mayor Responds To An Elderly Incident Killed By Neighbors Because Of Disposal Of Garbage Carelessly

JAKARTA - The Mayor of Central Jakarta, Dhany Sukma, asked all Regional Apparatus Work Units (UKPD) to intensify the ban on littering. The appeal follows the death of an elderly person who was beaten by a neighbor to death, just because he littered in Johar Baru.

"I will ask the ranks of the Central Jakarta Environment Agency (Sudin LH) to intensify socialization of waste management and the ban on waste disposal," Dhany Sukma told reporters, Tuesday, October 22.

Dhany said that waste management has been stated in Governor Regulation (Pergub) 77 of 2020. The regulation states that waste management from the source is before being disposed of.

"Judging if it is disposed of carelessly is not managed properly and is not recycled will definitely have an impact on the environment. I urge you to stop littering and reduce waste production from the source," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Central Jakarta Environment Agency (Sudin LH), Slamet Riyadi, said that his party asked residents to immediately report if anyone was throwing garbage in any place.

"For residents who know that someone who litters can report directly. Those who violate the rules will get a fine of Rp. 500 thousand," he said.

Previously, it was reported that an old man with the initials M (74) died after being hit by death by his tent, E (45) after a dispute. The beating incident led to the death of South Rawa Village, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, Sunday, October 20.

Based on information from housing security officers, MA (29), the perpetrators and victims were involved in a commotion at the location.

"When the incident happened, it seems that I was still patrolling around the area, after that there were several children (residents) giving information that there was a commotion in front of them and it could not be separated. After that, I and the head of the RW area security team went straight to the location and saw the deceased having convulsions," the Supreme Court told reporters.

The Supreme Court admitted that the motive for the commotion was a trivial matter. Namely because the victim allegedly threw garbage and was then reprimanded by his figure.
