President Prabowo Holds First Bilateral Meeting With State Guests

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto immediately held his first bilateral meeting with a number of state guests at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday, on the first day of officially serving as the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

After escorting the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, to Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Field, Jakarta, Sunday, Prabowo Subianto immediately received Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles.

"This afternoon, President Prabowo Subianto's meeting took place with several leaders of friendly countries who participated in the Presidential inauguration ceremony at the MPR RI earlier. There may be nine countries that have come today to the Palace head of state," said Head of the Presidential Communication Office Hasan Nasbi at a press conference at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Sunday.

Based on a live broadcast from the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account which was watched in Jakarta, Sunday, President Prabowo received PM Richard Marles in the Kredential Room, Merdeka Palace.

Deputy PM Richard Marles also signed a guest book, as part of a series of bilateral meetings that are usually held by the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Deputy PM Richard Marles and the delegation also held a conversation. During the meeting, President Prabowo Subianto was accompanied by the Head of State Protocol Andy Rachmianto.

After Deputy PM Richard Marles, President Prabowo later received British Foreign Minister and Northern Ireland David Lemmy.

In addition to the two countries, President Prabowo is scheduled to receive a number of other state guests, including New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, Laos, Britain, and China.
