President Prabowo Emphasizes, Indonesia Is Determined To Be A Friend To All Countries

JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto said Indonesia wants to be a friend to all countries around the world.

Not only that, he also hopes that the country can become a good neighboring country by adhering to the anti-convention principles.

"We want to be friends of all countries by adhering to the principle of anti-convention, because we have experienced colonialism, anti-repression because we have been oppressed," Prabowo said, as quoted by Antara.

The statement was made by Prabowo in his inauguration speech as President-elect of Indonesia at the Nusantara Building, MPR/DPR RI Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday.

Prabowo also reiterated the attitude and policy of foreign policy adopted by Indonesia, namely free and active foreign politics.

In facing international challenges, he said, the Indonesian government chose an active, non-block free path and was not involved in any military facts. "We don't follow any military facts," he said.

Prabowo admitted that he often emphasized that Indonesia would carry out foreign political policies as a country that wanted to be a good neighbor. "We want to be a good neighbor (We want to be a good neighbor)," he said.

He also said that Indonesia wanted to embrace the ancient philosophy of 'a thousand friends too few, one opponent too many'.
