JAKARTA - The discovery of the baby's body in one of the residents' gardens in Pemekek Village, Pringgara District, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) was a commotion for residents. The Pringgara Police have conducted an investigation into the scene of the case, so a further investigation is being carried out.

The Head of the Pringarata Sector Police, I Nyoman Astika, revealed that one of the witnesses named Evi heard the sound of a baby crying at the crime scene (TKP).

"The witness found a cloth with bloodstains, not far from the location, precisely under the Aren Tree, the witness saw the victim on his stomach and was not moving," he said in Central Lombok, Friday, October 18.

Nyoman said the victim was found on Thursday night at around 23.00 WITA. Then, the victim was taken to the Pringgara Health Center.

"When found, on the baby's back and head there were lacerations. When he was taken to the Pringara Health Center, the victim was declared dead," said Nyoman as quoted by ANTARA.

From the temporary investigation, Nyoman suspected that the victim was deliberately dumped at the scene of the case because the location was quite far from the residents' housing, so the surrounding situation tended to be quieter.

"Currently we are investigating who the perpetrators of the baby disposal were," concluded Nyoman.
