After Tito's Inauguration, Teguh Setyabudi Officially Becomes PJ Governor Of Jakarta

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian officially inaugurated Teguh Setyabudi as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta and Anwar Harun Damanik as Acting Governor of Central Papua.

The inauguration took place at the Sasana Bhakti Praja (SBP) Building of the Head Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Jakarta, Friday, October 18. The inauguration was also concurrent in the inauguration of the Village Family Empowerment and Welfare Mobilization Team (TP PKK).

"I am the Minister of Home Affairs on behalf of the President of the Republic of Indonesia by officially inaugurating Teguh Setyabudi as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta and brother Anwar Harun Damanik as Acting Governor of Central Papua," Tito was quoted as saying by ANTARA.

This inauguration was carried out based on the Presidential Decree (Keppres) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 125/P of 2024 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta. Then, Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 154/P of 2024 concerning Dismissal and Appointment of Middle Leadership Positions within the Central Papua Provincial Government.

"I believe that you will carry out your duties as well as possible, in accordance with the responsibilities given. On behalf of the President of Indonesia, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian," he said.

Previously, Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana said the decision was contained in Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 125P, dated October 16, 2024, regarding the Dismissal and Appointment of PJ Governor of DKI Jakarta.

"President Jokowi has signed Presidential Decree No. 125P, dated October 16, 2024 regarding the Dismissal and Appointment of PJ for the Governor of DKI Jakarta," said Ari yesterday.

Ari explained that in the Presidential Decree, President Joko Widodo honorably dismissed Heru Budi Hartono as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta and appointed Teguh Setyabudi as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta.

It is known that Heru Budi, who also serves as Head of the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres), was appointed by President Joko Widodo as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta since October 17, 2022.

Heru replaces Anies Baswedan, whose term ends on October 16, 2022. After undergoing an evaluation, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has again extended Heru Budi's term of office until October 2024.

In the DKI Jakarta DPRD meeting last September, there were three top names of the Acting Governor of DKI who received the most support from the factions in the DKI DPRD and were proposed to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

One of the names, namely Teguh Setyabudi, who at that time served as Director General of Civil Registry (Dirjen Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs with eight supports.

Then Akmal Malik, who served as Director General of Regional Autonomy (Otda) of the Ministry of Home Affairs with seven supports and Komjen Police Tomsi Tohir as Inspector General (Irjen) of the Ministry of Home Affairs with seven supports.
