Innovative In Halal Ecosystem Development, BPJPH Again Can Appreciate

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion's Halal Product Guarantee Administration Agency (BPJPH) received the 2024 Detikcom Award as an Innovative Institution for Halal Ecosystem Mobilization. The award was handed over by the Product Director of Sena Achari, and received by the Head of BPJPH, Muhammad Aqil Irham, at the 2024 Detikcom Award in Jakarta.

"Alhamdulillah, BPJPH has again received a prestigious award. Today BPJPH received the 2024 Detikcom Award as an Innovative Institution for Halal Ecosystem Mobilization." said Head of BPJPH, Muhammad Aqil Irham, after receiving the award, at The Westin Jakarta, Thursday (17/10/2024).

The award, which is based on the research-based assessment, he continued, is clear evidence of the seriousness, hard work, and also BPJPH's commitment to implementing various innovative efforts to drive and strengthen the halal ecosystem in Indonesia.

"This also proves that various strategic efforts of BPJPH in transforming halal certification services that are easier, cheaper, faster, transparent, professional and accountable have resulted in positive implications which the impact is felt by the wider community." Aqil added explaining in a written statement received by VOI.

This event has the theme Sharing a New Era: Innovation, Adaptation, and Transformation for Better Indonesia.

This award is an appreciation given to individuals and institutions in Indonesia who have made extraordinary contributions in various fields to the achievement of sticking out that inspires innovation, transformation, adaptation, and positive changes. The detikcom Awards are expected to be a motivation for all parties to continue to innovate, contribute, and create significant changes in various sectors in Indonesia.

The assessment process for each category of Detikcom Awards is carried out in a rigorous and transparent process. A number of criteria are taken into consideration in determining award recipients ranging from innovation, impact, quality, relevance, to sustainability. The assessment process was carried out by the Sesesmen Sequence Committee of the secondcom Team which began with research. The Assessment Committee conducted an assessment using quantitative and qualitative analysis, with the polling method, survey, and FGD on 1,000 detikcom readers as respondents to determine adaptive figures, brands, or institutions in Indonesia and carry out transformations in the era of change. After in-depth research, the Assessment Committee determined the award recipients, and further awards were given directly to the recipients of the secondcom Awards.

Furthermore, Aqil explained that the various national and international awards that BPJPH had obtained so far were inseparable from a number of important BPJPH achievements, which also brought a number of positive achievements of the halal ecosystem in the country which have been significant lately. The State of the Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) Report 2023 report released by DinarStansard shows an increase in Indonesia's ranking, which was previously ranked 4th in the world in 2022, rose to 3rd in the world in 2023. Likewise, the halal food sector, which was previously ranked 4th in 2020/2021, then increased to 2nd in the world in 2023.

Indonesia's positive results in GIEI 2023 are inseparable from various strategic efforts by the Government of Indonesia, especially in strengthening the halal ecosystem. SGIE Report 2023 itself explained that a number of important strategic efforts have been made. Among other things, it is stated that the Government of Indonesia has provided great support for cross-sectoral MSMEs, including serious efforts to accelerate halal certification, especially for UMK players. In 2023, Indonesian halal product companies also dominate The Top 30 OIC Halal Product Companies. Of the 30 companies announced, 15 of them came from Indonesia.

A number of these achievements are in line with BPJPH's efforts to encourage the development of the halal ecosystem. BPJPH provides great support for cross-sectoral UMK players through the Halal Certification program. More than 5.39 million products have been certified halal by BPJPH in the 2019-2024 period. BPJPH also continues to strengthen the halal certification service ecosystem with the formation of 79 LPH, 269 LP3H, 108,258 PPH Companion, 1,827 trained Halal Auditors, 11,437 trained Halal Investigators, and 18 JPH Training Institutes.

Looking back at the end of 2021, BPJPH also 'executed' the implementation of a halal certification scheme with a statement by business actors or called self-declare for the first time for UMK players. BPJPH also continues to transform services by digitizing the service system through the Halal Information System (Sialal) which continues to be developed with the use of AI and Blockchain. These innovations are presented to facilitate the community while supporting the development of the country's halal ecosystem. BPJPH also initiated the Indonesia Global Halal Fashion or IGHF which is intended to be a platform for collaboration in the development of the halal fashion industry as well as a means of promoting Indonesian halal fashion products to foreign markets.
