Speaking To The United Nations, Iran Confirms Israel Will Regret If It Responds To The October 1 Missile Attack

JAKARTA - Iran's top diplomat warned UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that he was ready to respond firmly if Israel took revenge for airstrikes in early October 2024.

"Iran, is making every effort to protect regional peace and security. Completely ready for a firm response and Israel will regret any action," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragghchi said during a phone call with Guterres, quoted from a written statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Wednesday, October 16, quoted by AFP.

Iran fired about 200 missiles at Israel on October 1 in retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and Iranian General.

Last week, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant promised Israel would retaliate TURN off, precisely, and surprisingly at Iranian missile attacks.

During a phone call on the evening of Tuesday, October 15, AragCHI also appealed to the United Nations to use its resources to stop Israel's crimes and aggression. Including sending humanitarian aid to Lebanon and Gaza.

Araghchi over the past week made diplomatic visits to Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, and Oman in an effort to ease tensions in the Middle East.

This Wednesday, October 16, Araghchi visited Jordan and will continue his visit to Egypt and Turkey.
