ICW Reveals Age Of Corruption Perpetrators In 2023: Youngest 22 Years, Oldest 75 Years

JAKARTA - Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) revealed that there were 865 perpetrators of corruption aged over 30 years. In fact, the oldest is 75 years old, namely Fazwar Bujang, who is the former Director of PT Krakatau Engineering for the 2007-2012 period.

This was conveyed by ICW researcher Kurnia Ramadhana at the 'Launching of the 2023 Corruption Verdict Trend Monitoring Results' on Monday, October 14.

"The oldest Fazwar Bujang is 75 years old, friends. The state loss is IDR 6.7 trillion," said Kurnia as shown on the ICW YouTube account.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator of the youngest alleged corruption in 2023 is Sadian Putra. He has cost the state up to Rp389 million but it was not explained by ICW what case caught him.

"So the majority are over the age of 30 for perpetrators of corruption," said Kurnia.

Kurnia further detailed that the private sector is the sector that does the most corrupt practices. "We continue this is a job background," he said.

"So if there is a question of which job background will practice corruption the most in 2023, the results here show that the majority of the private sector. This is combined, both handled by the prosecutor's office and handled by the KPK," he continued.

Not only that, but the number of village heads and officials caught in corrupt practices is significant. Based on ICW data, there are 139 village heads and 51 village officials.
