Buried In Jakarta, The Body Of Cagub Malut Benny Laos Flown Today

JAKARTA - The body of the Candidate for Governor (Cagub) of North Maluku (Malut) Benny Laos will be buried in Jakarta after experiencing the Bella 72 speedboat accident he was traveling in during a campaign in Bobobong, Taliabu Island Regency, Saturday, October 12.

"Today the body of Cagub Malut Benny Laos was flown by helicopter to Luwuk, Central Sulawesi, then taken by charter plane to Jakarta," said Muksin Amrin, spokesman for the Benny Laos-Sarbin Sehe pair in Ternate, Sunday, October 13, as reported by Antara.

According to Muksin, the body of Benny Laos after being buried last night in Bobong, Taliabu Island Regency, is scheduled to be dispatched to Jakarta with his closest wife and family today.

In addition, the plan is that the family will wait for Benny Laos' eldest son named Adbert Laos who is studying in America and will return to the country to attend his father's funeral at his final resting place.

Meanwhile, another victim, namely the Chairman of the North Maluku United Development Party (PPP) DPW, the late Mubin A Wahid, had been dispatched from Taliabu Island to Ternate City for burial.

Likewise, other victims who died in the incident of the burning of the Bella 72 speedboat will be buried in their respective areas.

As previously reported, the Ternate Search and Rescue Office said that the speedboat victims were boarded by Candidate Governor (Cagub) Benny Laos with a group in Bobong, Taliabu Island Regency, Saturday, totaling 33 people and six of them died.

Head of Basarnas Ternate Fathurahman said there were 33 passengers on the Bella 72 speedboat and 27 people were reported safe and six of them, including Cagub Benny Laos, died.

Therefore, said Fathurahman, at 20.30 WIT, the evacuation process from Bassarnas had been stopped. Meanwhile, the position of the shipwreck has been pulled to the shoreline and it is certain that no more victims are found in the speedboat.

He detailed the death toll as many as six people, namely Benny Laos (North Maluku Governor Candidate), Ester Tantry (Member of the North Maluku Provincial DPRD), members of the National Police guarding the Sula Islands Cabup, Bripka Hamdani Boamonabot, Mubin A. Wahid who is also the chairman of the North Maluku Provincial PPP Party DPW, the Sula Islands Regency Government Civil Servant, Nasrun, and Mahsudin Ode Muisi.

For data on victims undergoing treatment at the RSUD as many as 10 people, namely Sherly Tjoanda, Hendrata Thes, Amir, Ajam, Irsan, Sance, Dian Jurak, Faisal, Susianto and Mariana Meskopa.
