Head of BPBD Situbondo Regency, Sruwi Hartanto, in Situbondo, Saturday said that the distribution of clean ari to drought-affected areas from the dry season to October continues.
"Over time, in mid-September the area affected by drought and lack of clean water increased again in two sub-districts, namely Bungatan and Jatibanteng," he said.
Previously, BPBD noted that areas affected by drought and residents experienced a shortage of clean water due to the drying of matiri sources spread across six sub-districts, namely Banyuputih, Arjasa, Kendit, Mlandingan, Suboh, Sumbermalang.

"The addition of two sub-districts (Buntangkatan and Central Java) that experienced a lack of clean water was around 3,000 people spread across several hamlets," said Sruwi Hartanto.
He revealed that since entering the dry season in early August 2024 there have been around 10,000 people affected by drought spread across several villages in six sub-districts.
Every day, continued Sruwi, BPBD officers together with regional drinking water companies distribute clean water at two points affected by drought alternately using two fleets of tanker trucks with a capacity of 5,000 liters.
"Today we distribute clean water to Karanganangka Hamlet, Selowogo Village, Bungatan District, using two tank trucks and each fleet containing 5,000 liters of clean water," said Sruwi.
