Bali Police Name Australian Couple Suspect In Pink Palace Spa Prostitution Case

Bali Police have named foreign nationals from Australia as suspects suspected of being involved in a prostitution business under the guise of Spa services at Pink Palace Bali SPA on Jalan Mertasari, Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali.

"There are two foreign nationals with Australian citizenship at Pink Palace Spa, two husband and wife, namely MJLG and LJLG," said Deputy Director of the Bali Police Ditreskrimum AKBP I Ketut Suarnaya, Friday, October 11.

Suarnaya said the two Australian foreigners were domiciled as owners or owners of the Pink Palace Bali SPA. Determination of two foreigners as suspects based on information from the Spa employees. Both have lived in Bali for more than a year and are running the business openly.

Apart from the two foreigners, four Indonesian citizens were also named suspects. The four are WS (male, 37) as director, NMWS (female, 34) as general manager, WW (29) and IGNJ (33) as reception.

Suarnaya explained that in running the prostitution business, both foreigners and the Pink Palace Spa management team used two pick-up cars that were decorated with advertisements for the Spa. At the Pink Palace Spa, guests who came were offered a Spa package.

After that, the guests were directed to a room containing female therapists. After being selected, customers and therapists enter a special room for massage services followed by having sex.

He explained that when members of the Bali Police carried out a raid on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at around 21.10 WITA, dozens of women were found who were employed as therapists at the place.

One of the dozens of therapists NSP is a minor. Therefore, investigators ensnared six suspects under the article of pornography and child protection.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 76 letter I in conjunction with Article 88 of the Child Protection Law. This article states that everyone is prohibited from placing, allowing, committing, ordering, and even participating in economic and or sexual exploitation of children. In addition, the suspects were charged with Article 29, Article 30 Juncto Article 4 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography and or Article 296 of the Criminal Code and Article 506 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.

The case was revealed to have originated from public information regarding the rise of prostitution under the guise of spas in the jurisdiction of the Bali Police, especially in Denpasar and Badung. From this information, investigators conducted an investigation, which then on Wednesday 11 September 2024 at around 21.10 WITA conducted a raid at Pink Palace Bali SPA on Jalan Mertasari, Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta District, Badung.

Suarnaya said most of the guests who visited Pink Palace Spa were foreign nationals. The place, since it was raided by the Bali Police, has not operated and has been installed with a police line.

The evidence confiscated from the crime scene were two black pick-ups, hundreds of condoms, Rp6 million in cash and items related to the crime. The six suspects are still languishing in the Bali Police detention house waiting for the delegation to the Prosecutor's Office.
