Jokowi Considers Village Road Construction To Be 366,000 Km In The Government Era Is Still Less

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the realization of the construction of a 366,000 kilometer village road (km) in Indonesia in a decade of his leadership was still lacking.

Jokowi said the length of the village road that should have been realized could have reached two to three times from now on.

"Let's see the number of villages in Indonesia is 74,800 villages, if 366,000 km are built, does it mean that one village is only 4-5 km, is it logical? In my opinion, it shouldn't be that much, it should be twice to three times from now," he said during a speech at the opening of Kompas 100 CEO Forum at the Garuda Palace, the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, Friday, October 11 afternoon, confiscated by Antara.

According to Jokowi, village roads are a very important production route for farmers, for farmers in Indonesia in the distribution of goods.

"During the 10 years of leadership in Indonesia, the government has realized its budget alignment with the construction of new village roads, although people talk about toll roads more often," he said.

In addition to supporting road access for the needs of farmers and planters, said Jokowi, the government has also realized 6,800 reservoirs for their water reserves.

In addition, he said, the construction of 14,700 village markets was also realized as a means of marketing agricultural and plantation products.

"Why should there be a village market? Because from that production there must be a place to market," he said.

To support the public health sector, the government has also built 46.000 new posyandu facilities, from previously non-existent ones.
