Tomorrow Friday, Jokowi Will Test IKN Airport Again With A Bigger Plane

JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would again conduct trials of IKN Nusantara Airport by landing using a larger aircraft than before.

If previously Jokowi had landed on the Presidential Aircraft RJ85, now the runway (runway) of Nusantara Airport is thicked and expanded. The plan is for Jokowi to board the Boeing Business Jet 737-800 Presidential Aircraft on Friday, October 11.

"The airport at IKN, God willing, will be ready for the trial tomorrow. On Friday, the President will try it through IKN airport. Previously, it had gone through IKN airport, but now he will try it on a large-bodied ship," said Rosan at the Presidential Palace. Jakarta, Wednesday 9 October.

The construction of the IKN airport is targeted for completion on December 31, 2024, with a runway of 3,000 meters and a terminal building area of 7,350 square meters. Nusantara Airport will be able to serve aircraft landings of the largest type B-777 300 ER and A380.

"Hopefully it was conveyed that in December or January it could be opened to the public at the airport from IKN," said Rosan.

Thus, he continued, connectivity to IKN will be more efficient. Time efficiency is expected to be cut from 2 hours to 20 minutes.

"So the problem of connectivity will become more efficient. In the past, we had to go to Balikpapan and then 2 hours from Balikpapan to IKN. Now if we can land from IKN Airport and then to IKN itself, the time is only 20 minutes," explained Rosan.

In addition to IKN Airport, Rosan said that the recent development at IKN was in the form of ground breaking for Chinese companies, construction of hotels from Russia, office construction, and construction of malls.

"Then companies from Australia have also ground-breaking to build international standard schools, and local entrepreneurs such as Plataran have also ground-breaking to build restaurants. The plan is that mixed use will also be built by Plataran groups and hotels, although now there is only one hotel, yesterday's ground-breaking there was a hotel, both three-star, four-star, and five-star, "explained Rosan.
