The Prosecutor's Office Confiscates IDR 182 Million At SMKN 1 Klungkung Related To The Committee's Fund Case

The Investigation Team for Special Crimes at the Klungkung District Attorney's Office searched SMK Negeri 1 Klungkung, Bali and confiscated a sum of money allegedly related to irregularities in the management of committee funds at the school worth Rp 700 million.

"The search of the prosecutor's investigation team confiscated cash worth Rp. 182,558,145 and 31 documents related to the management of the Committee's funds from 2020 to 2022," said Head of the Special Crimes Section of the Klungkung Kejari, Putu Iskadi Kekeran, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 9.

He said the search was carried out based on the Search Order of the Head of the Klungkung District Attorney's Office number Print-813/N.1.12/Fd.1/10/2024 dated 08 October 2024.

The search was carried out to obtain documents related to the non-existent 2020-2022 committee funds as stated in the BAP in the case of alleged irregularities in the management of committee funds at the 1 Klungkung State Vocational High School (SMK) which is being handled by the Special Crime Investigation Team at the Klungkung District Attorney's Office.

According to Putu Isladi, the money is thought to have come from committee funds from 2020 to 2022 which were previously controlled in cash by school principals and could not be accounted for for for.

In addition, the investigative team found 293 diplomas which are still being held by SMK Negeri 1 Klungkung because they cannot be redeemed for not making committee payments.

After the search was completed, the search results were stored in the evidence room of the Klungkung District Attorney's Special Crime Section. Meanwhile, the money worth Rp. 182,558,145 was deposited into the Klungkung Kejari RPL account to ensure the safety of the money.

During the search, the Klungkung District Attorney's team of investigators chaired by the Head of Special Investigation Unit of the Klungkung Kejari, Putu Iskadi Kekeran, was assisted by the internal security of the prosecutor's office, namely from the Klungkung Kejari Intelligence, led by the Head of Intelligence Section of the Klungkung Kejari.

During the search, the Head of the Klungkung District Attorney's Office, Dr. Lapatawe B. Hamka, was also supervised to ensure the safety of its implementation.

Previously, the Klungkung District Attorney's Special Criminal Team received a public report regarding the misuse of committee funds at SMK Negeri 1 Klungkung. After an investigation was carried out, investigators found indications of misuse of school committee funds so that the case was raised to an investigation with a calculation of alleged losses of Rp700 million.
