Not Only Leaked Leaks, Many Rats At The House Of DPR Members

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the House of Representatives, Indra Iskandar, said that the official residence of DPR members in the Kalibata House of Representatives (RJA) complex, Jakarta, experienced a lot of seeping water because it had been built since the 80s.

According to him, this has arisen due to old piping conditions. With the condition of the water that seeps until it leaks, according to him, damage often spreads to the house next to it.

"In the rainy season, there are quite a lot of complaints, there are a lot of consequences, especially leaks," said Indra as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 7.

When viewed from the outside, he said the houses in the housing only looked a little dull. However, if checked inside, according to him, the problem of the damage could appear.

Even so, according to him, not all houses in the housing complex were damaged. Indra noted, there are a number of houses that are classified as still in good condition.

"There is a house that is still in good condition, some are not good, and some are in quite good condition, yes," he said.

Apart from the leak, Indra admitted that the problem that was difficult to solve was the matter of the number of rats and termites. According to him, the problem arose because the residential area used to be the place where rubber trees grew.

"So there is a lot of damage in the contents of the building whose contents are made of wood must be damaged within a certain period of time," he said.

Previously, the DPR announced that members of the DPR RI for the 2024 '2029 period would no longer receive official housing facilities and be replaced with official housing allowances or office houses.

This has been known since Thursday (3/10) through the Secretariat General of the DPR RI Number B/733/RT.01/09/2024 regarding the re-delivery of the house of office of members. The letter, which was signed on September 25, 2024, ordered elected DPR members and those who did not leave their respective official residences.
