Bamus Betawi Supports Tjokorda To Become Attorney General

The news of the appointment of Dr. Tjokorda Ngurah Agung Kusumayudha as the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029 continues to receive support from various levels of society, regardless of community organizations (ormas).

The nomination of Tjokorda as the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029 under the elected presidential leadership Cabinet Prabowo Subianto, and the elected vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is considered partially appropriate because the former prosecutor has committed legal action.

"The person concerned has achievements and experience, especially in the field of law," said Head of Bamus Betawi H Oding, Sunday, October 6.

As is known, the Constitutional Court (MK) in decision Number 49/PUU-VIII/2010 stated that the Attorney General's term ended with the end of the presidential term in one term together with the term of office of cabinet members or dismissed during his term of office by the president in the term concerned.

The filling of the position of Attorney General became crucial when the Constitutional Court cut the network of political party administrators. The Constitutional Court's decision Number 6/PUU-XXII/2024 states that to be appointed as Attorney General must meet the requirements, including the requirements, not being a political party administrator unless he has stopped as a political party administrator for at least five years before being appointed as Attorney General.

Looking at the background that has been done, Tjokorda is said to have devoted himself to being a prosecutor for approximately 38 years, and is also active in handling community organizations and organizations of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office.

Tjokorda last served at the Directorate of State Administration in the unit (Junior Attorney General for State Administration) at the Indonesian Attorney General's Office. Then, he served in the Corruption Eradication Commission in the first period of the founding of the KPK for more than 5 years. Then he served in the PIDSUS JAM unit (Special Crime Directorate) which was assigned specifically with the team, handling 58 cases of BLBI Attorney General.

Tjokorda had received awards from the Betawi Youth Forum Management Board, and the Betawi BAMUS Management Board in 2017. Then as the Honorary Figure of Betawi Youth for his dedication in the field of law and helped foster the Young Betawi Generation and Betawi Arts Institution (KKB) with his wife Prof. Dr. Anna Mariana, who also serves as the KKB General Treasurer.
