JAKARTA The North Maluku Regional Police (Malut) has stopped handling the case of the alleged disbandment of the mass action with the reported Regent of North Halmahera, Frans Manery after the two parties agreed to peace.

"For this case, it has been terminated through restorative justice or resolved outside the judiciary," said Head of Public Relations of the North Maluku Police, Kombes Pol Bambang Suharyono in Ternate, as quoted from Antara, Sunday, October 6.

Bambang said the case was terminated after a case was held and a restorative justice route was taken or the settlement of cases outside the court.

Regent Frans Manery was reported by the Tobelo and GMKI branch of the Indonesian Christian Student Movement (GMKI) for the XV Region to the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Regional Police.

Based on the clarification of the Regent of Halut Frans Manery, it was stated that before pursuing the crowd with a machete, he had reprimanded the protesters to return home, it was just that the masses did not heed the request and returned to the KPU plenary agenda.
