JAKARTA - Online gambling has become a social phenomenon that has become increasingly widespread in recent years.

Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi reminded that the threat of online gambling is not only about the economy, but also about morality and family welfare.

"Mothers love their husbands, right? If that's the case, remember your husband not to play online gambling. The money is to buy children's milk, not to lose in gambling," Budi Arie said in a press release, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 5.

He said this in an online anti-judicial socialization held by the Ministry of Communication and Information at Pegadungan, Kalideres, Jakarta, Friday, October 4.

Budi Arie reminded mothers to take a role in eradicating this problem. In addition to avoiding illegal online loans, mothers also always remind their husbands and children not to fall into this practice.

His biological brother is online gambling, this is called an online loan. If I have shouted, the only thing that is illegal is that you don't have to pay. Because he is the same, the player is with the dealer. So the father's mother who plays online gambling is hit by the internet oh, this is a loss, this is offered an online loan. That's why I said online gambling is a fraud," he explained.

On the sidelines of the crowd, some mothers enthusiastically approached the Minister of Communication and Information, wanting to tell stories about their experiences. Some are crying when they tell the story of their husband who is entangled in online gambling.

"We really want this online gambling to be stopped. It's not just a matter of money. This is about our children, their future. We want our household to be safe from the bad effects," said the Family Welfare Empowerment Cadre (PKK) Pegadungan Village, Dewi.

Pegadungan Village Head Rachmat Mulyadi appreciated the ongoing socialization. According to him, the role of mothers in eradicating online gambling is very important because it is closer to children.

"Hopefully their mothers know that online gambling is dangerous for their domestic lives. And with mothers, they can monitor the whereabouts of their children, husbands, not to play online gambling anymore," he said.
