Riau Police Arrest 2 LGBT Men Who Forced Teenage Boys Oral Sex

The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Regional Police arrested two suspects with the initials RAP (20) and MMA (23) on suspicion of sexual intercourse with minors of the same sex or lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT).

The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Anom Caribbeanto, explained that the perpetrators of the RAP knew their victims from an application that was indeed a place for men to get acquainted with each other. The perpetrator then communicated further with victim B (16) through WhatsApp and Instagram conversations.

"Last July, the perpetrator went to the victim's boarding house and asked him to have sex, but the victim refused," said Anom.

Despite receiving rejection from the victim, the suspect forced to perform oral sex. The victim, who was traumatized by what he experienced, then reported it to his parents and made a report to the Riau Police.

Finally, the suspect was secured at his parents' workshop in Kuantan Singingi in August 2024. After a medical examination, it was discovered that RAP was infected with the HIV/AIDS virus.

After development, another victim who is also 16 years old experienced a similar case at a hotel in Pekanbaru City. The victim and suspect MMA even had sexual relations like a husband and wife in a hotel room.

"The traumatized victim also reported to his father and made a report for further investigation," said Anom.

Director of the General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Police, Police Commissioner Asep Darmawan, explained that the suspect RAP could not be presented in the disclosure of cases because his health condition had decreased. RAP with HIV and his health condition worsened.

"Currently at the Arifin Ahmad Regional General Hospital. It is also feared that in detention it will infect other prisoners," said Asep.

The two suspects who committed immoral acts while in elementary school were also victims and are now perpetrators. In addition, the police will explore the application where the suspect and victim get acquainted for further investigation.

The suspects are charged with Article 76 E in conjunction with Article 82 of the Child Protection Law with a minimum penalty of five years in prison.
