JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco, estimates that the number of commissions as a means of completing the DPR (AKD) for the 2024-2029 period will amount to 12 to 13 commissions.
"So more or less it's the range between 12 or 13 (commissions). It hasn't been decided yet," said Dasco, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 4.
He said the formation and preparation of commissions in the DPR was still waiting for the nomenclature of the new government ministries or agencies to be formed.
"Given that we also have not received how many additional working partners from the DPR will be formed by the upcoming government," he said.
According to Dasco, the increase in the number of commissions in the DPR will adjust to the increase in the number of ministries or government agencies in the future.
"If the number may be around five or six (increased ministries/members), there is only one additional commission, that's roughly. If then he is more than that, it means two commissions must be added," he said.
According to Dasco, the current number of commissions in the DPR is not able to accommodate working partners from the government.
"The current commissions are also disproportionate in number, some are rather large, some are then fewer partners," he added.

Previously, DPR member Said Abdullah said there would be 13 commissions in the DPR in the 2024-2029 period which had been approved by political party factions.
So far, according to him, 13 commissions have been prepared, but the nomenclature which includes duties and functions as well as partners will be determined after the number and nomenclature of the ministry is determined by the elected president.
"God willing, the factions have been confirmed," said Said.
