Iranian Foreign Minister Arrives In Lebanon Amid Israeli Air Strikes

JAKARTA - Iranian foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi reportedly arrived in Lebanon, according to the official Lebanese National News Agency. The arrival of Iran's Foreign Minister amid Israel's continued attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon.

"Currently, an Iranian plane has arrived at Raff Hariri International Airport, carrying Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas AragCHI," NNA reported, quoted by CNN, Friday, October 4.

The visit comes as regional tensions escalate, with Israel launching a continuing offensive in Lebanon over the past week and a recent Iranian missile attack on military targets in Israel.

As previously reported, Israeli attacks in Beirut Thursday night until Friday morning local time targeted senior official Hezbollah Hashem Safieddine.

Safieddine is one of the successor candidates to the late leader Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli attack last week. It is unclear whether the Israeli attack killed Safieddine.

Reported by CNN, Friday, October 4, Hezbollah also carried out an attack on Israel on Thursday. Israel said Hezbollah launched about 230 projectiles from Lebanon.

While Hezbollah claims to carry out 32 attacks varying throughout the day, including rocket attacks on Israeli settlements and military bases as well as attacks on Israeli soldiers carrying out land operations in southern Lebanon.
