KPK Suspects Consultants' Role When PT Taspen Distributes Retired Money To Securities Companies

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that there is a contribution from consultants regarding the placement of pension funds managed by PT Taspen (Persero) in a number of securities companies. Investigators are said to be conducting an in-depth investigation.

"Of course, the placement of funds is also usually through consultants, there are investment consultants, investment consultants," said KPK Investigation Director Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, October 3.

"The consultant of the investment is also one that we are handling," he continued.

Even so, Asep has not detailed further about the findings obtained by investigators. He said the team was still working to prove a number of facts.

One of them is whether there is a kickback or giving to the suspect in this case. "Of course this is the part we are currently investigating," he said.

It is known that a number of securities have been scheduled to be examined by the KPK investigating team such as the Director of PT Binartha Sekuritas, Adi Indarto Hartono; former Director of Finance and Operations of PT Sinarmas Sekuritas, Ferita; and President Director of PT Pacific Sekuritas Indonesia, Edy Soetrisno.

As previously reported, the KPK decided to increase the status of handling allegations of corruption at PT Taspen (Persero) from an investigation to an investigation. Antonius NS Kosasih who is the main director is inactive is a suspect in this case.

Kosasih has been prevented from leaving the country for six months to facilitate the investigation of the case. This forced effort also applies to Ekiawan Heri Primaryanto as President Director of Insight Investments Management

In this case, PT Taspen is suspected of making fictitious investments of up to Rp1 trillion. The funds were transferred in a number of forms such as stocks to sukuk.
