A Gang Of Parang Robbers From Pasuruan Arrested By The East Java Regional Police

Sub-Directorate of Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda East Java arrested three people from Pasuruan who were a gang of robbers who did not hesitate to injure their victims with machetes and sickles.

"The three people arrested were MWK aged 24, AMN aged 22 years and HMT aged 20 years," said Head of Sub-Directorate for Jatanras East Java Police AKBP Arbari in Jumhur, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 3.

Jumhur explained that these perpetrators did not know the time when carrying out their actions, both day and night as long as they saw that there was a direct target for execution.

"Generally these perpetrators carry out their actions at night, but their gang did not know the time," he said.

The three perpetrators admitted that it was the first time they had committed theft with violence (curas).

"There is one DPO that we are still pursuing, it is suspected that he is also a member of another gang, which often acts in other areas," said Jumhur.

The three suspects who were arrested were the perpetrators who often acted in Kedungrejo Village, Winongan District, Pasuruan Regency.

"The three of them have their respective roles, as planners, as providers of facilities and some serve as sellers of looted goods," he said.

While carrying out the action, these perpetrators waited for their target to pass on deserted roads such as locations surrounded by sugarcane fields.

In the midst of a safe trip, the perpetrator shouted at the victim by brandishing a sharp weapon, causing the victim to panic and fall.

"If the victim resists, these suspects will not hesitate to injure their victims. After the victim fell, the motorbike was seized and taken away by the perpetrator," said Jumhur.

From the arrests of the perpetrators, the police secured evidence of sharp machetes, jackets and motorbikes.

As a result of their actions, the three suspects were subject to Article 365 2 to 2 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 480 of the Criminal Code, with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.
