PALU - The Mandago Raya Operations Task Force of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) confiscated four firearms (senpi) and four homemade bombs from July to September 2024.

"The Madago Raya Task Force has succeeded in securing and receiving the handover of a number of firearms, homemade bombs and hundreds of ammunition from stage III operations," said Head of Operations (Kaops) Madago Raya Polda Central Sulawesi Kombes Boy FS Samola in a statement received in Palu, Antara, Tuesday, October 2.

The Madago Raya operation is a security maintenance operation with deradicalization and counter-terrorism activities that prioritizes preemptive and preventive efforts to prevent and prevent the spread of radicalism and terrorism.

This operation is a regional operation of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police which is carried out in four stages which are divided into three months per stage.

The Mandago Raya operation phase III will take place from July to September 2024.

He said the firearms that were successfully secured were three long-barreled homemade firearms, one short-barreled homemade firearm. In addition, one PCP air rifle along with the telescope, and various types of ammunition with a total of 136 rounds and four homemade bombs.

In addition, he continued, in carrying out the phase III task which took place from July-September 2024, the Madago Raya Operations Task Force also succeeded in exceeding the predetermined operational activity targets.

"The Madago Raya Operations Task Force involves 253 personnel including members of the TNI consisting of four task forces. This operation initially targeted 8,754 activities, but by the end of its implementation it managed to reach 11,195 activities," he said.

He stated that all operational activities could be carried out properly, even exceeding the number of operational targets (JTO) that had been set.

This success, he said, shows the strong commitment of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police in maintaining security and peace stability, as well as preventing the development of radicalism in the four districts that are targeted by the operating area.

"With this result, Operation Madago Raya Phase III not only strengthens security stability, but also proves that reconciliation efforts and recovery efforts can go hand in hand for the sake of the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

He added that Operation Madago Raya was resumed for phase IV from October 1 to December 31, 2024.
