No Changes, Dasco Affirms DPR Leadership Formation 2024-2029 Follow The MD3 Law

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, ensured that there was no change in the provisions for the preparation of the formation of the leadership of the DPR for the 2024-2029 period. He emphasized that the formation of the leadership of the DPR will continue to follow the MPR/DPR/DPD/DPRD (MD3) Law.

"We both know that in this period there has been no change in the MD3 Law so that the leadership of the DPR certainly refers to the MD3 Law which is still valid at this time," said Dasco, Monday, September 30.

Dasco said that the chairman of the House of Representatives for the next period still came from the political party (political parties) that won the 2024 Legislative Election, namely the PDI-P. Meanwhile, the chairperson of the deputy chairman of the DPR, will be filled by 4 representatives from the party according to the order of the most votes in the last election.

"Yes, of course, if you look at the MD3 Law, the leadership package has been regulated by the provisions of the winning one, second, third, fourth and fifth leadership packages which will later be proposed by each faction of their names and will be immediately determined," said Dasco.

Previously, news circulated about the revision of the MD3 Law. Dasco once denied and emphasized that the majority of factions in the DPR agreed not to change the MD3 Law.

"And we majority agree that parties in parliament should not revise the MD3 Law until the end of the current term of office of members of the DPR," said Dasco at the MPR/DPR/DPD building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, April 4.
