New Face Of Parliament Domination, 360 People First Serve DPR Members

JAKARTA - A total of 580 members of the House of Representatives (DPR) and 136 members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) for the period 2024-2029 will be sworn in on October 1, 2024. The elected representatives of the people present a new face at Senayan. More than half of the elected DPR members, namely as many as 360 people, are legislators who have only served for the first time.

The elected DPR member from the West Java electoral district (Dapil), Atalia Praratya, is one of the newcomers who will occupy the seats of the DPR in this period. Atalia expressed her optimism for the spirit and fresh ideas that will be brought by new legislative members.

"The new face will certainly have a new spirit, of course there will be new ideas that, God willing, will color the things that we will fight for together. This country cannot only be taken care of alone, but must go through collaboration," said Atalia, Sunday, September 29.

This statement was made by Atalia after participating in the National Values Establishment activity in Lemhannas which was attended by 580 elected DPR candidates and 152 elected DPD candidates. The event, which lasted for 9 days from September 21-29, 2024, shows the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the new legislators to participate in building the nation.

"During this determination, many new ideas emerged. In fact, the time available for discussion is sometimes not enough because of the many ideas and aspirations that want to be conveyed. This shows new faces bring new enthusiasm and strength," he added.

Candidates for DPR members from the 6th Electoral District of Central Java, Nafa Urbach, also expressed his pleasure in collaborating with new legislative members, especially with the presence of many young people who were elected this period.

"I am very enthusiastic because in the 2024-2029 period, many young people were selected. During 9 days at Lemhannas, I see this as an extraordinary opportunity because there are many new faces, and the youngest is 21 years old," said Nafa.

According to Nafa, the spirit of young people will be an important force in building the nation, thanks to their fresh and innovative ideas. He hopes that this collaboration with the younger generation will make a positive contribution.

"This is the right moment for the younger generation to take advantage of their creative ideas to build this country. They are still full of energy and enthusiasm to fight, so this collaboration will definitely be fun," concluded Nafa.
