In The Aftermath Of The Bakamla Building Fire, The Police Check 16 Building Workers

JAKARTA - The police are examining 16 construction workers in the aftermath of the burning of the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) building in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta.

"We are currently investigating 16 builders at the Central Jakarta Metro Police. Later, the statements from these builders will be quite helpful," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro to reporters, Sunday, September 29.

He said the investigation was carried out to find out the cause of the fire on Sunday, September 29 that morning.

"We still hope that all CCTV in this building can still be checked," he continued.

He said the fire that occurred in the Bakamla building was being cooled. Later, his party will conduct a crime scene (TKP) in the building.

"Hopefully we can cool down immediately and we will process the crime scene for the cause, of course we are still investigating, in the investigation," he said.

Susatyo also said that the Forensic Laboratory Center of the National Police Headquarters would also be deployed. The goal is to find out the cause of the fire from the building.

"Puslabfor Polri Headquarters (also deployed,' he said.

For information, the Indonesian Bakamla Building, Central Jakarta caught fire on Sunday, September 29, morning. A total of 19 and 95 firefighters (damkar) were deployed.

Currently the fire is under control. However, dozens of firefighters are still extinguishing the building.
