JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Anwar Abbas asked the police to try the perpetrators of vandalism at a discussion event attended by a number of figures in Kemang, South Jakarta, Saturday, September 28.

Anwar emphasized that Indonesia is a state of law, which guarantees everyone's right to freedom of association, assembly and opinion, as stated in the 1945 Constitution article 28E paragraph 3.
