Complete Investigation Files, Juliari Batubara And 2 Of His Subordinates Will Be Tried Immediately

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has completed the investigation of former Social Minister Juliari Batubara and his subordinates Adi Wahyono, as well as former Commitment Making Officer (PPK) Matheus Joko Santoso.

"The investigating team carried out stage two, handing over the suspect and evidence to the prosecutor team with the suspect JPB (Juliari Peter Batubara), the suspect MJS (Matheus Joko Santoso) and the suspect AW (Adi Wahyono)," said Acting KPK spokesperson for prosecution Ali Fikri. written statement, Thursday, April 1.

Thus, investigators also submit the investigation files of the suspects to the public prosecutor.

Then, the detention was continued and became the authority of the respective prosecutors for the next 20 days from April 1 to April 20. The suspect Juliari was detained at the KPK branch of the Pomdam Jaya Guntur branch.

Meanwhile, two of his subordinates, Matheus Joko, were detained at the Rutan KPK at the Red and White House and Adi Wahyono at the Central Jakarta Police Detention Center.

Subsequently, the public prosecutor (JPU) immediately prepared an indictment and submitted the case files to the Corruption Court within 14 working days. "The trial is scheduled at the Corruption Court in Central Jakarta," he said.

As for the process of investigating the alleged bribery case at the Ministry of Social Affairs, the KPK has examined 68 witnesses.

"Consisting of officials within the Ministry of Social Affairs, members of the Indonesian Parliament, and various private parties who become vendors in the implementation of the intended social assistance activities," said Ali.

Previously reported, the KPK named a number of suspects including former Social Minister Juliari Peter Batubara. Apart from Juliari, the KPK also named four other suspects, namely the Commitment Making Officer at the Ministry of Social Affairs (PPK) Matheus Joko Santoso and Adi Wahyono as the bribe recipients and Ardian IM and Harry Sidabuke as the bribes.

This case began when Juliari appointed two commitment-making officials (PPK) Matheus Joko Santoso and Adi to carry out this project by directly appointing partners. The KPK suspects that there is a fee from the work package that partners must pay to the Ministry of Social Affairs. As for the fee for each COVID-19 social assistance package that Matheus and Adi agreed to, it was IDR 10,000 from a value of IDR 300 thousand.
