Central Java Police Arrest Debt Collector Boss After A Year Of Buron

The Central Java Regional Police arrested the debt collector with the initials AM who had fled for about a year to Jambi after being named a fugitive in theft and confiscation cases in Semarang City.

"This suspect is the head of a debt collection service company suspected of committing theft and confiscation of vehicles belonging to a customer of one of the financing companies in Semarang in October 2023," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police, Kombes Johanson Simamora, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 27.

The suspect had moved locations before finally domiciled in Jambi.

During his stay in Jambi, the suspect AM returned to open a similar debt collection service provider company.

"Investigators obtained information about the suspect's whereabouts in Jambi having opened a similar debt collection company," he said.

Suspect AM is a fugitive in a disturbing case in Central Java.

Previously, the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police arrested six debt collectors who forcibly withdrew motorized vehicles belonging to the public accompanied by intimidation and violence in October 2023.

Six people from the two groups who were arrested allegedly used the mode of forcibly pulling vehicles accompanied by intimidation and beatings.
