Prabowo Concerning Megawati's Plan To Meet: God Willing, Hopefully

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party as well as elected president for the period 2024-2029 Prabowo Subianto responded to the plan for a meeting with PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. Prabowo hopes that the meeting will be held soon.

"God willing, hopefully," Prabowo told reporters at the parliament complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, September 25.

However, Prabowo was reluctant to discuss further when he and Megawati would meet.

Previously, PDIP Chairperson for Political Affairs Puan Maharani said the meeting between Prabowo Subianto and Megawati Soekarnoputri would be held as soon as possible. However, Puan Maharani was also reluctant to divulge the exact time when the two would meet.

"Later, in the fastest possible time, with the right time," said Puan last Tuesday.

Puan said that her party was communicating with the Gerindra Party to confirm the plan to meet Megawati Soekarnoputri with Prabowo. "Yes, there is always communication. I have met Pak Prabowo many times," he said.

Puan said the meeting between Prabowo and Megawati was an important momentum because the meeting could affect the position of PDIP, whether to join the Prabowo-Gibran government or not for the next five years.

"God willing, nothing is impossible (PDIP joins the Prabowo government). Always communicate, from the time the election is over, always communicates," he concluded.
