Efforts to ensure the safe and peaceful implementation of the 2024 Pilkada, Central Java Police Chief Inspector General of Police Ribut Hari Wibowo called for an invitation to all parties, especially the two pairs of candidates for governor and deputy governor, to unite to maintain the security of public order (kamtibmas) during the campaign period until the election at the 2024 Pilkada.

This call was conveyed at the Peaceful Campaign Declaration event which took place at the Central Java Provincial KPU Office, Tuesday, September 24.

"In a competitive Pilkada atmosphere, it is important for all of us, especially the candidates, to maintain a conducive atmosphere. I invite both pairs of candidates, and all elements of society, to synergize, maintain peaceful Pilkada," said Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ribut Hari Wibowo, in a written statement, Wednesday, September 25.

The Kapolda also emphasized that maintaining the safety of the Pilkada is not only the duty of the police, but a shared responsibility.

"The task of the National Police is to guard security, but we need support from all parties. Harmonious cooperation between the community, government, and election participants is very important to create a peaceful Pilkada atmosphere," he added.

In the atmosphere of togetherness that was held at the event, the two pairs of candidates for governor, namely Andika Perkasa-Hendi Prihadi and Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin, stated their agreement to carry out the campaign in a peaceful and orderly manner.

"I also want to invite all people of Central Java to maintain unity and peace during this Pilkada period. Respect differences, avoid provocations that can damage the peaceful atmosphere that we have built together," continued the Kapolda.
