JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission I of the House of Representatives, Meutya Hafid, admitted that he had gathered the courage to invite Defense Minister (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto to attend a working meeting (raker) with Commission I of the DPR.

Meutya admitted that he was not afraid of Prabowo, but was afraid of Prabowo's 96 million voters until he was elected 8th President.

This was conveyed by Meutya when opening the DPR Commission I meeting with the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Law and Human Rights in the DPR Commission I meeting room, Wednesday, September 25.

Meutya initially mentioned the presence of the leadership of Commission I of the DPR RI with a complete formation in front of Defense Minister Prabowo.

"In front of the Minister of Defense, all leaders and this is rare, sir. Maybe it's only today and in the first meeting with the Minister of Defense, five of them are present," said Meutya.

In addition to all the full leaders of Commission I who attended, Meutya also welcomed the members of the meeting who attended were the most during the work meeting in the last six months.

"Then the members of Commission I who attended also all factions, 9 factions attended with physical presence there were 40 people. So this may also be the highest number in the last three months or the last six months," he continued.

Meutya then admitted that she had to collect extraordinary courage to be able to invite Prabowo. The Golkar politician is afraid that 96 million money will vote for Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election.

"I actually collected extraordinary courage and took a long time to invite our partner, Mr. Minister of Defense, not because I am afraid of Mr. Prabowo, but to him currently, 96 million Indonesian voters are attached," he said.

"We are in this number, out of these 50 members, yesterday's vote was at most 3 million out of the total election. So this is our pride, the Minister of Defense, who also now holds the status of elected president with 96 million votes, can attend," said Meutya.
