2024 Pilkada Campaign Begins, KPU Reminds This To Paslon And Timses

KPU Commissioner Idham Holik reminded the pair of regional head candidates, success teams (timses) or winning teams and volunteers to comply with the rules during the 2024 Pilkada campaign period. The campaign will take place within 60 days, starting today until 23 November.

"We have conveyed to all parties, especially to the candidate pair team regarding the technical regulations for organizing the campaign. We are sure that the candidate pair and volunteers can comply with the campaign regulations imposed for the 2024 national simultaneous regional elections," said Idham Wednesday, September 25.

Idham is optimistic that the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) will take action against all violations of the 2024 Pilkada by candidate pairs, timses, or volunteers. I believe Bawaslu colleagues will take action according to the authority of the atribution given by law to Bawaslu according to the level," he said.

Moreover, said Idham, the campaign is a representation or mirror of democratic civilization. According to him, obeying the rules will improve the quality of Indonesian democracy.

"I believe that the Indonesian people or candidate pairs all have a good commitment to improving the quality of electoral democracy by complying with campaign rules," concluded Idham.

It is known that the KPU has mapped out the number of candidate pairs who will be participants in the 2024 Pilkada. There are 1,553 pairs of candidates consisting of the provincial, city and district levels throughout Indonesia.

Of these, there are 103 pairs of candidates for governor and deputy governor candidates, 1,166 pairs of candidates for regent and deputy regent candidates, as well as 284 pairs of candidates for mayor and vice mayor candidate.
