JAKARTA - Several neighbors who live close to the house of ZA's family, the shooting suspects at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri), Jakarta, have confirmed that they will try to strengthen their relatives regardless of the terror incident that occurred.

According to several neighbors who were met near the victim's house in the Kelapa Dua Wetan area, Ciracas, East Jakarta, on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, the incident at the National Police Headquarters was the reason they had to embrace ZA's family because they had long-standing good relations with the parents and older siblings.

"I know if they (ZA's parents) are here I want to meet him. It's sad. I (want) to cheer them up," said Tiuria Gultom, one of the neighbors whose house is less than 100 meters from the ZA family house, as reported by Antara, Thursday, April 1.

Even so, Tiuria did not deny that some residents expressed their fears after the incident, but she tried to persuade residents not to be trapped in fear.

"I said (to some neighbors) we will come here tomorrow. I said (to) my residents, not to be afraid. You can't do that, we can strengthen each other. I said earlier that I was a resident," said Tiuria, Wednesday night.

Tiuria is one of the Neighbor Associaton heads in Community Association 10, but he doesn't responsible for the Neighbor Association area where ZA's family lives. Even so, he claims to have a good relationship with the ZA family, including his parents and older siblings considering that he himself has lived in the area for more than 30 years.

Meanwhile, another neighbor met near ZA's family home, a married couple with the initials R and S said the incident at Headquarters had not changed the long-standing good relationship between them and ZA's parents and ZA's siblings.

"After this, there is no problem. So far, (we) have not had any problems. Yes, that's our neighbors, who always have been, that's all. (They are) like family, siblings,” said S when met at his shop, which is about 200 meters from ZA's family house, Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, R added that the people in his area have good relations with residents so he is optimistic that the family ties that have been well-established for decades will not change after an incident at Police Headquarters.

"Here, God willing, no one is excluded, because his parents are good people," said R.

The married couple R and S have lived in the Kelapa Dua Wetan area for more than 40 years. Both claimed to know ZA's parents and their siblings well.

ZA, 25, was a shooting suspect at the National Police Headquarters who was then shot dead on the scene by the police. ZA's body was taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for an autopsy not long after the incident, then she was buried on Wednesday night at a public cemetery in East Jakarta.

Indonesian National Police Chief Gen. Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo during a press conference at the National Police Headquarters explained that the suspect ZA acted alone or was a lone wolf. The police believe ZA's actions were driven by terrorist radicalism, which is likely linked to ISIS.
